BOOKMOBILE MANAGER – Full-time 40 hours/week public service position for Central Arkansas Library System, 100 Rock St, Little Rock, AR 72211. Seeking a motivated, enthusiastic people-person with excellent driving and social skills. Candidate will spend 2-5 days per week on the road, delivering library services to remote and unincorporated parts of Pulaski and Perry Counties via the "CALS Cruiser" (bookmobile) van. The ability to connect with people of all ages and all walks of life is an essential element to this service-oriented position. Duties include driving the equipped van on a regular monthly route, setting up the van and its services for public access, assisting patrons in acquiring library cards and checking materials in and out, and keeping the van collection organized and the van maintained. In addition, accompanying outreach teams to events and assisting with those efforts will be a big part of this job. Digital literacy is essential for assisting patrons with digital materials and devices. ALA accredited MLS degree desired, but not required. Must have and maintain a valid AR driver's license. Must be willing to learn basic vehicle maintenance practices and procedures and be able to push and pull up to 50 lbs. This job requires lots of movement in and out of a vehicle and significant time driving as well as significant time standing. Occasional weekend shifts may be required. The pay starts at $44,158.
